ISTD Awards: Images of the Divine

Images of the Divine was submitted to the International Society of Typographic Designers student assessment scheme of 2017. It asked students to select a book using a Dewey Decimal Classification System number (a numerical system that organizes books by subject) based on your birthdate. 

This publication was awarded a merit in this competition.

Constantine V banned the display of religious icons; ecclesiastical dignitaries representing both Eastern and Western branches of Christianity convened at the Seventh Ecumenical council in 787 AD to debate the ban. Split into three sections, the typographic publication Images of the Divine explores events leading up to the council, the eight sessions convened during the council, and the opposing arguments put forward by the rival iconoclasts and iconophiles.
